Assessment

We can provide specialist in-depth assessment and diagnosis of suspected Autism and/or learning disability. Assessment usually involves a clinical assessment with the person and family or carers, in-depth developmental history, structured interview such as the Autism Diagnostic Observation Schedule (ADOS) or Autism Diagnostic Interview, Revised (ADI-R), information gathering and observation in schools or other settings and a full detailed report.

Full multi-disciplinary assessments are offered in association with other professional colleagues.

Interventions

Bespoke interventions tailored to an individual's needs are provided in consultation and collaboration with the support network. We work closely with individuals, their families and carers and wider networks including schools and colleges to ensure people with Autism and/or learning disability are supported in the most helpful way.

Our approach is always person-centred and paced to meet an individual's needs recognising that people with suspected autism may often experience high levels of anxiety.

Consultation and Training

In addition to more regular support and detailed assessments, we can offer ad hoc consultations around a person's needs to assist comprehensive care planning and risk management. We can also offer bespoke training packages targeted to a providers needs.

Care you can trust...

At Abacus Psychology all of our Psychologists have up to date DBS checks and are registered with the Health and Care Professions Council - the regulatory body for Practitioner Psychologists.
