Play Therapy
Therapeutic support for children who may find it difficult to talk directly about their feelings, worries or experiences.
Play Therapy gives children a safe and supportive space to express themselves through play, creativity and therapeutic relationship. It can be especially helpful when children feel anxious, unsettled, angry, withdrawn, confused, or unable to explain what is happening for them.
At Abacus Psychology, our play therapy service is trauma-informed, child-centred and paced around the child’s needs. The focus is not on “playing nicely” or teaching behaviour, but on helping children communicate, process experiences and develop emotional resilience in a way that feels natural and safe for them.
