Experience
Emma is a Clinical Nurse Specialist who has worked within many areas of child and adolescent mental health for nearly 30 years. She qualified as a psychiatric nurse in 1995 and went on to complete a ‘Post graduate certificate in Social learning theory and counselling.’ She has worked within several CAMHS services across the country as a clinical nurse specialist, team lead and service manager. She has also developed numerous projects during that time including School-based CAMHS, transition and autism services. She has worked within the forensic field both inpatient, in a forensic youth treatment centre and in the community as health worker in the youth offending service.
She has undertaken further training in the area of autism and previously worked as a team manager in an autism service. She currently works with an NHS CAMHS Crisis team role and this involves working with acutely unwell young people preventing hospital admissions. She specialises in working with young people who are struggling with their mental health, self-harm behaviours and risk managing. Throughout these posts she has worked collaboratively within multi-disciplinary teams and worked autonomously, and have years of experience working with young people and their families.#
